A timer that interacts with your friends for time-sensitive tasks
OVERVIEW
A fun timer concept that aims to address procrastination of time-sensitive tasks. My goal was to explore more fun UI, and make something that was marketable and new within the space of timers.

CHALLENGE
Self-directed commitments are tough.
Studying.
New Year Resolutions.
Waking up for 8:30AM lectures.
Staying off TikTok.
No matter how many timers I set — whether it’s Pomodoro, alarms, or calendar reminders — they never stop my temptation to procrastinate. It’s easy to ignore the timer, hit snooze, and keep scrolling. I thought to myself, how can I make myself feel accountable enough to carry out my self-imposed tasks?
SOLUTION
Zany — a timer app that expedites your task-completion with social motivation.
Having external factors or people involved can work wonders for keeping us on track. We see it everywhere: teachers guide routine learning, study groups help with exams, and coworkers keep each other focused on shared goals. That’s why Zany brings your friends and colleagues into your personal commitments.
By notifying them when you’ve started a task, Zany adds accountability — or, in other words, a healthy dose of guilt if you don't finish! With its friendly and inviting interface, the app makes broadcasting your tasks fun, allowing friends and coworkers to cheer you on and keep you motivated along the way, and vice versa :-)
